Exemptions All employees except those working in the managerial or supervisory capacity and who is employed as an apprentice or on part-time basis

Penalty for obstructing inspectors exercising powers or discharging duties, etc.

(i) for the first offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 months, or with fine which may extend to Rs.500, or with both;

(ii) for a second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 6 months, or with fine which may extend Rs.1000 , or with both; and Limitation of prosecution.

Penalty for non compliance with the direction of the Board

In any case where the offender is sentenced to fine only, the amount of fine shall not be less than Rs. 50.
